Juneteenth 2022 Celebration - Snellville GA

The celebration, held at the town square in Snellville was sponsored by The Family, an organization that mentors business startups.

In the House

I’ve been in the house for 9 months now. The day gig sent us home in April. I am thankful as I have remained healthy. The photography work is all but dried up for part-time freelancers like self. So for now, until such time that we can safely congregate again, this is what I’m shooting.

Re-up. Journals from WalMart. I write everyday now.

The pen collection is off the rails. I review them. These are still under review.

Not much shooting going on but I’m continuing to make it. Here’s what’s been going on.

Just a Sliver

I have to admit that I sometimes fall victim to being uninspired. Believing that there’s no time to shoot or nothing to shoot unless it is for a gig. Having read a lot recently about finding inspiration in “your town,” inspiration on this day came from the garage.

The garage door likely needs replacing, but because of the condition it is in, this sliver a light peaked through onto the deep freezer. I saw, I liked, I shot. It’s not always about the money shot, or the high profile destination or the client. Sometimes it just comes down to the light.

Pink Heals

As a Janie Come Lately, I almost always wait until the last few days of September to renew my tag, which means I have to go to the county tag office to renew. The renewal date here is the registrant’s birthday. I stopped in on the way to work to renew and low and behold was the pink beauty below resting at the fire station next door. The truck is from Pink Heals, a community outreach program that supports persons in need, founded by Dave Graybill. For more information please visit the Pink Heals website.
